Supplies
should be brought in on the first day of school
and be replenished throughout the year if you run out.
Please make sure your name is on all your notebooks,
calculator, etc.
Wheeled backpacks that don't fit inside your locker will remain in the
hallway
in front of your locker. There is not room to store them in classrooms.
- Supply of No.
2 pencils
- Supply of blue
or black pens
- Four red pens
- Supply of loose
leaf paper (College or wide-lined - whatever floats your boat)
- Colored pencils
or markers
- 2 Standard size
boxes of tissues (Handed in to me on the first day of school)
- Standard/Metric
Ruler (Wooden preferred / plastic ones usually break before the end
of October)
- Calculator (Nothing
fancy but is used in math and science throughout the year)
- Folder to keep
loose leaf paper in
- Supply pouch -
NO BOXES PLEASE (Break too quickly / Explode
all over hallway - horrible sight)
- Ziploc Freezer bag works well.
- Book covers -
ALL books must be covered and remain covered ALL year
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Scotch tape
- Highlighters
- 1 package of Clorox or Lysol disinfectant
wipes (maybe we won't run out of tissues by Feb :-)
As far as I'm concerned - If you're in
my homeroom or have me for science you don't need to walk around carrying
all this stuff. Come to class with your notebook, textbook, paper,
pen and a pencil. I'll let you know ahead of time if your need calculator,
markers, etc.
As sixth graders you are expected to
have the necessary supplies when you come to class - I do not appreciate hearing,
"It's in my locker." This wears thin very quickly because
it holds up the entire class. If it becomes a routine you may find yourself
in detention. If you waste class time - I'll waste your time.
READING
ENGLISH
- 1 folder with
pockets to hold paper and homework
SCIENCE
-
Folder
or binder with Pockets - I don't care what kind
of notebook you use as long as you come to class each day with something
to keep your study guides, labs, etc. in order. This is very
important - I have a notebook check at the end of each chapter. They
are graded. It is an easy 100 if you just keep the materials
for each chapter together.
- 4 Packages of
3" x 5" lined index cards - You will need approximately
10 - 15 cards per chapter. You do not need to bring all 4 packages
around with you everyday. The vocabulary for each chapter is given
at the beginning of the chapter and is available a head of time on the
science vocabulary page.
Please
Note: Each child is required to complete 3 book reports of
books from the summer
reading list. These reports
are due the first week of school. These count as your 1st reading grade!
Thank
You!
